How can I improve morale?

In lean and uncertain times, boosting morale without spending a lot of money is so very important.  Some of the ways that morale can become more positive -- 1) Senior managers can host brown bag lunches to discuss technical issues, business, etc in an informal setting.  2) Have a company picnic and have everyone bring a dish, drink, and play lots of games and sports!  3) Implement a way that employees can earn points for going the extra mile, and the top three winners each quarter get a paid day off  4) Walk around smiling, and thank everyone for their hard work!
